Jim, it's that time of the quarter again - earnings warning time. This is supposed to be a "transitional" quarter for CPQ - translation: more of the same that you saw in Q2. The Q3 estimate of 7› eps may not be in jeopardy but I'm more than a little wary of their ability to hit their Q4 numbers. In order for CPQ to hit their full year eps of 47› they have to reach a minimum of 37› in Q4 - more likely 40› plus because of the lower number of average weighted shares in the 2nd half of the year. Seems like a stretch to me and I wouldn't be surprised if they warned in the next week or so. If they do warn this could hurt the tech sector, in particular DELL. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
