Hey Guys

I was actually surprised to find a Chase thread in Silicon Investor. Do you know if there's a bigger CMB thread either here or elsewhere? Is there a financial equivalant to SI? Thanks much.

By the way, I don't think we'll have a recession next year, though a slowdown appears likely. Looking at all recessions of the recent past, there was a pretty clear pattern. Rising interest rates, oil and other commodity prices often rising, a huge government deficit hamstringing government ability to pump money into the economy, worries over inflation (causing the Fed to raise interest rates). We don't have any of these ingredients in this case. We do have carnage among a lot of our trading partners, significant investment losses among some people, and money swishing this way and that in gigantic currency bets. But I don't think these are enough to overcome the mighty consumer's spending habits when unemployment is so low and wages are moving up at a decent clip. I'll now get off my soap box.
