From an Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, Notice of Violation dated September 4, 1998.

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), Water Quality Division, Water Quality Enforcement Unit, has determined that C & W Mining doing business as Global Platinum + Gold Inc. near Buckeye, Arizona, is in violation of the Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) Title 49-101 et seq and applicable rules.

Finding of Fact and Description of Violation(s)

C & W Mining is operating a milling and leaching facility which is considered to be a dischargin facility.

C & W Mining is operating a discharging facility without a valid permit which is a violation.

Required Corrective Actions

Immediately upon Receipt of this notice:

Cease all milling and leaching operations at the site until a permit has been obtained or the director determines that the facility has been designed, constructed and operated so that there will be no migration of pollutants directly to the aquifer or vadose zone.

Within Ten (10) Days of Receipt of this notice:

Schedule an Aquifer Protection Permit preapplication meeting with the ADEQ Mining Unit to establish the application submittal requirements for our mining operation.

Within (90) days of receipt of this notice:

Submit an aquifer protection permit application for the mining operation at Light Hall Well.

The whole inspection report and other info is seven pages long. I just typed what appeared to be the important part. If anyone has specific questions I will try to answer them.
