Well LongWinded Bob <G>. I did the work for QP when I found my "get into the computer even though it crashes" routine. The files that were changed by the 8-28 update in the system32 dir are as follows:

comctl32.dll
mfc42.dll
msvcirt.dll
msvcrt.dll
qpr2dllb.dll
qpr2dllm.dll
qpr2vb.dll
wininet.dll

You're probably right that one of those RT lib's is causing the dl'er troubles. If you need version #'s to look into it further let me know.

John
