Ramsey,

<<Is Anwar starting a revolution? Is Malaysia in danger of a Indonesia style collapse?>>

I do not think that Anwar would intend to start a revolution or trigger an Indonesian style collapse. I think he is weighing options. He is still holed up in his home, having now cancelled twice an intended tour of the country to build support. He has been advised that he will be arrested if he does so by his close associates. In the meantime Anwar must be weighing whether to start a new party or to migrate back to the PAS party of more fundamental Islamic thinking. PAS has its strength in the Eastern Malaysia states of Kelantan and Terreganu where a more agraria society and a more traditional, Islamic lifestyle is strictly enforced. PAS has been vocally critical of Mahatir and the current regime for cronyism, and graft; selling out Islamic principals in the process. Anwar is rooted in a fundamental Islamic background.

Best,
Stitch
