To all:

I'm a bit off on a tangent, but would like a reply from anyone who might know the answer--

What are the 'mechanics" of impeachment in the Senate? I know the House reviews the evidence and sends it to the Senate. I assume that some Senate committee (probably the Judiciary) will then draft the Articles of Impeachment for consideration by the entire Senate.

This is where my knowledge gets a bit fuzzy. How does that trial take place? Is there some senator who acts as prosecutor, and another as defender? Are all 100 senators expected to sit quietly and act like a jury? How is evidence presented, and how can the "impeachee" (Clinton) present rebuttal argument?

News Flash-- Starr's report en route to Congress. Should be on the net within 48 hours.
