I think I'm about to become very unpopular on this thread...

So upfront, let me say directly "Give me a break!"

Like Katha Pollit of the Nation, what we have here is not molestation, animal sodomy, or horrors, even worse (whatever that would me, I'm an ex pat SanFranciscan and I believe in generosity)

but sex between consensual adults. Not to mention, a prior strip tease act which is very difficult to figure into a victimization strategy.

And when you consider context - as David Hare celebrates Oscar Wilde, you see you have a mama and daughter that knew how to swing bigtime...planning the conquistas all along the way, and what better plan, than up? And what could be more at the top than the head of state of USA?

Further, I would like to register a complaint that bimbos are everywhere taking up important airspace, and I for one would like to see something very different e.g.

Aun Sang Su Kyi speaks truth to power in Burma, surrounded in her car for days by military, an elected official and peace prize winner

Hanan Ashwrahi, speaks truth to power to both sides, the Netanyahus and the Palestinian Authority...who is also so loving, she giggles! And her only animosity is towards those who are intentionally ignorant

Elizabeth Drew who all along has been telling us what's really going on in the soft money lottery

Dolores Huerta, strong and sustaining in an impossibly won battle

and, from a friend, Dorothy Day, nun, who really knew who to make the right moves in a civil and religious society

I could go on and on but let me close with Moliere, who said

Of all the vices, hypocrisy enjoys special immunity...[Don Juan]
