The point is that words are important. Words in sacred texts are critical. People live and die and kill by them.

For instance: It is accurately: thou shalt not murder. Not kill. Killing is okay if it isn't murder. That is why Moses was not a hypocrite when he ordered the slaughter of all the people who were worshipping the golden calf when he came down the mountain with the tablets.
