Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Banshee is incapable of SLI. Having the capability is not the same as having to use it. There could be cheaper cards without SLI, and more expensive ones that I could use in SLI mode or in combination with V2 or V1, etc. This should not have made Banshee much more expensive. Making Banshee work with V1 would almost garantee that every V1 owner would buy a Banshee.

As for nvid, all I can say is that nvid did not know of Banshee specs either. This did not seem to prevent them from bashing 3Dfx. The least 3Dfx could do about nvid was to cast serious doubt on their capability to deliver what they had promised. Instead they treated them with kiddy gloves and even gave them some credibility by stating on numerous times that they only consider TNT their competition. I think in general 3Dfx has been noble and naive with regards to marketing in the technical front and damn incompetent in the investment front.

P.P.S What did the word "exclusive" mean in the 3Dfx and EA agreement?
