H Power to Build Methanol Fuel Cells for Evaluation by Army - Fuel Cell Converts Methanol Directly to Electricity - Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- H Power Corp., a pioneer in the commercialization of fuel cells, announced today that it has received a contract from the Army Research Office, with funding provided by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), to develop fuel cells powered directly from methanol. The fuel cell will marry advanced electrochemical technology developed at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) with H Power fuel cell hardware to create a lightweight energy source that can produce 50 W of power.
