Gerald, I wasn't comparing the two statistics when I related them. It seems that you are comparing them. It is true that the percentage is the same, however, there are two entirely different points being made. In a previous post, your opening assumption was that many people die instantly from heart attacks. I am arguing that in fact it is a low percentage (16.6) that die instantly. The second point was that while the same "low percentage" of people develop heart disease up to 20 years before retirement , that is a huge market for these scanners. I am guessing there are at least 80 million adults 45 to 64 in this country so the number of people who develop heart DISEASE would be over 13 million people.
