no SLI on Banshee, but please prove me wrong...

Exactly! Get people to buy a Banshee, and make Banshee a desirable first start to a future V2. Or as an upgrade to existing V1, and later move to V2+. 3dfx needs to make their cards desirable to be sold as bundles. Or, with clear upgrade paths. Don't know how many times I have paid more for a computer for the 'ability' of future upgrades: be it open memory slots, open PCI slots, etc. If OEMs get Banshee, and Banshee has a nice "tie in" with Rampage, doesn't the installed base of Banshee cards facilitate future Rampage sales?????? Seems like any additional cost is really just a marketing cost.
It may be prudent for people to go back and look at reply #5391 which discusses the Banshee SLI issue. This has been one of my sore points with 3dfx as a stock holder. And, there seems to be some misinformation on this thread that cycles over-and-over.
I have not seen any hard facts that Banshee is capable of SLI.... be it with Voodoo2 (doubtful due to hardware differences) or with another Banshee.
Would appreciate any posts that prove otherwise. |
