When I said "Sadly, the political landscape of this country has been changed forever", I meant that we will now have endless witch hunts, and that politics will get nastier.

The Republicans are taking advantage of being the majority party. Just as the Republicans have waited a long time to avenge Nixon's impeachment, the Democrats, when they regain control of congress, will avenge the attack on their party, and the attack on their ability to raise funds.

Also, every President or Vice President better be squeeky clean. A prerequisite for holding public office will be mandatory castration.

That is why the public has stayed supportive of President Clinton. Most people agree with you on this point.
