Who else is close to producing a Li-polymer laptop battery?

Its becoming more and more apparent that no other competitor is as close as Valence. It appears that Ultralife has a cellphone line and is planning to wire together some cellphone cells in an attempt to make a laptop battery. Based on performance specs released so far, their battery can't stand up to Valence's.

The rumors about the Japanese haven't panned out, and it appears that in making large Li-poly batteries for laptops, they aren't even in the game yet. We have only heard about some tiny batteries from them so far. Other companies who are apparently in the hunt are at least a year away from production, and my guess is several years, especially given the problems that Valence and Ultralife have run into.

My guess is Ultralife will make some cellphone batteries, and have a hard time getting laptop business. Apparently Mitsubishi has suspended purchase of hand crafted batteries from ULBI. This leaves the field wide open for Valence.
