Dave, in reference to the fiber optic network TSCP plans for Mexico, and overall expansion in Latin America...Do you see services like Globalstar (Lorel & Qualcomm) as direct competition to TSCP. Unlike Iridium, Globalstar will work with existing terrestrial infrastructure and cover 90% of the earth (land mass). The bulk of its business will be regional calls made within nations, extending the limited terrestrial infrastructure in developing nations and "filling in the gaps" for cellular service in developing countries. I believe the Globalstar system is scheduled for operation in the spring of 1999. And then down the road you have the $9 billion Teledesic LEO system which is under development by Motorola and Boeing. I guess my question boils down to: Is it worth laying fiber optic in developing countries?
