I think the SR revolution is gathering momentum. All it needs now is strong leadership! IBM holds the overall unit market-share lead in voice recognition with 38 percent, compared with Dragon's 34 percent. But Dragon's Naturally Speaking Preferred title usurped IBM ViaVoice as the best-selling voice-recognition title at retail during the first half of 1998, according to PC Data. ... Retailers said the voice-recognition category fell flat for a few months, but is picking up steam with recent price promotions and the launch of IBM's new titles. Rapid growth indicating the beginning of the Moore "tornado". The technology enthusiasts and early adopters are likely saturated; now we'll see if the early majority buys in. If so, look out for some serious acceleration in higher end PC sales. Note however that the "teen" products showcased in this article seem, at least to me, very much the WRONG direction for product development. Do these guys understand their own markets??
