Yes, but that's the problem, if I can take it a bit further. The issue is that the news has been miserable for over a year. This Asian issue did not just crop up yesterday fo example, it was a red flag going into the summer of '97.

In other words, sooner or later all these dire forecasts and so forth are going to really affect the market. Why not now?

Besides, I'm not so certain people are bearish enough. If I could be allowed a moment as a total fatalist this market certainly has the potential to really rock peoples socks. The average person has no idea what a market failure can cause. So, I do not see that concern. I see a bunch of people in the business that are concerned, but the average Joe(sephine) is not.

On second thought, it's the average Joe. Many women have expressed concern to me in conversation. The males seem to think life will just go on as always.
