Netscape was very good at what they did. The problem with Netscape (and with most companies) is that they spread themselves way too thin. Trying to put a browser on every platform, while noble, was a stupid idea. All that wasted energy could have been used to create the next best browser. Too bad. One of the reasons Microsoft is so successful is because of their ability to focus on a given task and stick to it until they get it right. (Or quickly abandon those that are wrong.) Ed
