I completely disagree. Web browsers today are like OSs in the early 80s. Whoever gets dominant market share will monopolize the computing platform for the next 20 years. If giving away the browser, or even the source code (which is what the Mozilla project is--Netscape published their source code and various developers around the world are collaborating on the next browser, which they named after Netscape's mascot "Mozilla" for copyright reasons), can give Netscape/Mozilla or Microsoft dominance, it will pay off in spades.

Of the two, of course, it's much better for us if Netscape wins. Especially with this open source code project, because it means that we consumers will not be beholden to a monopoly for our computing needs.
