Dr. Goldstein,

I was referred to your comments and review of our web site by an associate of mine in our office this morning. Thanks for the positive review and insightful points about our product and the healthcare market.

As MONITRx's Marketing Manager, I'd like to respond to a couple of points in your thread:

1. The CADI System was engineered specifically to be massively customizible at multiple levels for customer implementations. In example, individual customers can "customize" the application to meet their enterprise, regional, state, and even branch level workflows and information gathering requirements. This allows the system to work well in variable markets and regulatory environments. It also requires little, if any, pre-sales "customization/reprogramming" efforts.

The "Yes/No & Multiple Choice Formats" language regarding the navigation of our system was used to specify the simplicity of it's user ergonomics. What truly occurs with our system is that our customers define how they want to operate their business (both in the field and at the office) and utilize our system to implement and automate their operations. This is then displayed to field based users via a simple Windows'95 graphical user interface. The user reacts to what is presented through predefined acceptable responses, or by entering non-standardized responses manually. About 97% of the information gathering procedures with the field-based components of our system have been done with one touch responses to customer standardized information.

2. Your explanation of the SOAP note process defines the high level processes that our system automates exactly.

The CADI System allows assessment of every physiological system in the body. We have followed a number of standards to define the appropriate subjective and objective documentation by body system.

Perhaps one of the most compelling features of our system lays in the CARE Planning modules. These allow care providers to complete assessments and then develop and work from dynamic care plans through future encounters with the patient.

3. In regard to our database, we currently maintain about 4000 different care objects (assessments, interventions/therapies, teachings, outcomes, etc.) Additonally, we have developed a number of historical logs (meds, diagnoses, vitals, access devices, labs, etc.) to provide a complete history of a patient at the touch of the screen. We then "arrange" these in the system per our customer's needs so to best facilitate each care provider's best efforts at giving care. The system also immediately provides our customers with intrinsic JCAHO, Medicare/HCFA, OASIS, and Prospective Pay compliance.

4. Finally, regarding the documentation required currently of healthcare providers... you have perhaps defined the single most compelling sales point for us. Our system completes all required documentation transparently and interactively at the point-of-care. When the care provider completes a patient visit, the paperwork is done. In a number of studies which we have done this year, we have found no less than a 22% reduction in net operating expenses AFTER the costs of The CADI System are considered. The majority of those savings are found in the elimination of post visit documentation and transcription costs.

Again, we appreciate your comments and have actually set in motion a number of updates to our web pages to more clearly define these points.

I'd like to also suggest that interested members of this thread perhaps create a MONITRx thread.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly at 415.925.8800 and I'd be happy to assist you in any way.

We at MONITRx are very excited about the future and anticipate a great 1997!
