"which is surprising given the fact that the impending buyout should put a bottom under this."

TLAB ownership is 80% institutional. TLAB shareholders can vote the deal down. Do you think the word may be out that the vote will be thumbs down? I have no information except the tape to lead me to this conclusion. But when I see INCA offering 25000 shares at 17 it tells me that the big money wants out. When I see them puking the stock down from 25 without letting up it tells me they know something. Why not wait and let people get a false sense of security and start buying if they don't? Why not only show 1000 shares on the offer? A 25000 share offer can cause a price drop without the party offering selling 1 share. My deduction is that the big money knows, and is worried that the little money will find out.

Bounces should be sold and sold short, IMO.
