Hi JP tax-loss sales are sales on the dogs/with fleas you have in your portfolio, to take advantage of any gains you might have...if there are any... the fund managers usually rid their portfolios of those dogs so as to show their investors how good they were during the year...a bunch of crap... anyway the losers in any portfolio just get sold for tax purposes...
