I am by no means a fountain of knowledge regarding Islam, but your post is so full of logical inconsistencies that I am happy to respond to those. It's not!: It is!! (Gotcha on that one!) supposed to be direct of God. It's not! It's from an illiterate camel caravan driver. Well, that's the point. How could an "illiterate camel driver" speak the elegant words that flowed from his mouth? He was "chanelling" so to speak the word of Allah being delivered by Gabriel (angel, I'm sure you know, means messenger of god). As to whether the Koran contradicts the bible, what's news about that? Lots of things contradict the bible. Universal reality contradicts the bible (you don't believe the earth actually stopped spinning on its axis, do you?). If the bible can retain its credibility in the face of mysterious contradiction, you've got to allow that to any other sacred scripture. As far as Gabriels pronouncements on Jesus being the son of god and then later not be, could you provide cites for those quotes? I have to stop for a while; my neck hurts. Don't say god is doing it to me.
