I too have been hearing that the Brazilian economy along with those of a number of other South American countries is in trouble, but I don't have details. There will probably be an impact, although relatively small, on Dell. When you sell in an economy that is experiencing a downturn you cannot help but feel the pinch. As I indicated earlier, developing countries' economies are dependant upon commodity prices. So sustained low oil prices have hurt them.

There are lots of loans that look as if they are going bad. This is one of the reasons I warned you away from the large money center banks a few days ago.

For those of you who think that historic P/E and book value provides a safety net just consider the financial exposure a bank has and the illusory nature of book value. This should be a case study.
