Symantec Announces Partnership with White Pine Software

Enhanced CU-SeeMe Desktop Video Conferencing Technology will be Integrated with Future Releases of
pcANYWHERE

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- December 19, 1996 -- Symantec Corporation (Nasdaq:SYMC), the worldwide leader in desktop
communications software, today announced a partnership with White Pine Software (NASDAQ:WPNE) makers of Enhanced
CU-SeeMe, the leading desktop videoconferencing software solution. These leaders in their respective markets will team to
extend future releases of pcANYWHERE32's remote access and file transfer capabilities through the addition of desktop
videoconferencing. By combining White Pine's Enhanced CU-SeeMe and Symantec's pcANYWHERE, videoconferencing
becomes more flexible, more affordable, and more accessible than ever before.
