Trump, agreed. The problem is that the movers of the volume (MM's) don't trade based on any industry research or genuine interest in the company, they just play the odds. And odds are, like you say, no news means a price drop. The risk they take is only that in some cases, the fundamentals of the company are sound and news will more than make up for the short term loss with dramatic price rises based on long awaited contracts, launches etc.

As a result, price drops on BB stocks are very often not connected at all to the real potential of the company, just a market that plays the odds.
