I agree with tabling the discussion of the morality of abortion. But there is one thing that is relevant to the weasely GOP on this issue: their latest directive to congressional candidates is to assert that they are strict pro-lifers, however, because there is no prospect for change on this issue, they think it is IRRELEVANT. I've now heard GOP candidates Peter Fitzgerald (Sen-Ill.) and scumbag Lungren say that.
What a principled party. But is it any surprise since the last half-dozen GOP candidates for President just mouthed the words to the pro-lifers. None of them (Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush, Dole) really believed it.
