There used to be a day when if intel sneezes, Nasdaq and the overall
market get sick. INTC's pre-announcement stunt will boost some tech
shares tomorrow but, i think, its effect will be very short-lived
and won't be as broad as it used to be. The market is so focused on Clinton, Latin Amer., Japan, IR/forex, right now that the release of
any of these news, good or bad, will magnify or neutralize a move due to firm- specific news. Of course, nothing can save the market tomorrow if the Starr report reads like a bad porno script.
