Remember July 1996? Market was in a funk, investors were jittery, and Intel was feared to miss its numbers. Well, Intel beat the number handily, and single-handedly fixed the ENTIRE DAMN MARKET. The market shot up from there and didn't look back until the next time it got in a funk. (of course the awesome 1996 tech winter was followed by the 1997 disappointments that have persisted until, well, now)

Don't underestimate the market power of Intel. GE doesn't hurt either.
