Interesting post. I don't know if I would categorize Michael Dell the way Stephen Barr did as "a half glass kind of a guy".

You may have heard the story about the comedian Bill Cosby addressing a graduating class at his alma mater where he purportedly told the story about having the ability to think. I remember the story going something like this:

"My class assignment was to debate the question: 'Is the glass half empty or half full'? I was given the assignment of defending the concept of the glass being half empty. Naturally I, like most of the others who were given the same pessimistic assignment, was none too happy. I decided that I would ask my father, a man with little education, but with plenty of common sense, how he viewed the question. He smiled and
answered: 'Son it all depends on whether you are drinking or you are pouring'!

I never forgot that lesson".
