Thanks for the insight Shane. I think I saw in Gilder's tech report that LSI had a strong presence in CDMA chipsets for digital cellular as well.

Regarding Y2K and embedded processors, it is hard to get anyone with any specific knowledge in any industry segment to talk about it, I guess for fear of going on record, then being held liable or whatever. I did see an intersting article yesterday that indicated that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has stopped purchasing Intel based PCs due to concerns with the RTC chip in the chipset. They are buying PCs made with chips from Dallas Semiconductor. This blew me away.
