Michelle has already answered for herself, which she is more than competent to do, but I can add that I don't think that her comments have been overly negative. The whole database market is dead in the water right now for lack of new ideas/products. I hope that 8i is the big win that I think that it will be. I am sure that without something really new coming down the pipe this sector will get eaten by the shrink-wrap vendors. Even Ashton-Tate might have been able, given enough time, to deliver a real database, and RDBMS has been standing still for years...
