I agree, but let's hope Bob tells us in the future: (1) that he is changing his time-frame; (2) what the new time-frame is for him; and (3) the rationale behind the change. If he changes his mind, so be it. But I don't think we should have to do guesswork in figuring out where he stands at any point in time. This situation does absolutely nothing for Brinker's reputation and often leads to listener confusion and, in some cases, plain outrage stemming from confusion. And I can hardly average listener for their reaction to these subtle changes in view.
