<<I also had thought about that for a moment but remember these are impeachment "hearings" and they will likely call many witnesses before deciding to impeach and send to the Senate >>

I disagree. The Congress will not prolong this affair by holding lengthy hearings and calling many of the same witnesses that the Ken Starr grand jury has already heard. The testimony will be no different than that contained in the 36? voluminous boxes submitted by Ken Starr's team. By calling witnesses to once again testify this matter will be drawn out at least another 1.5 years a process I believe no one really wants to be drawn into-politicians or the public.

My feeling is that within a few months, perhaps by early next year, this matter will be settled one way or another. The Congress will vote to impeach or not to impeach or the President will be pressured out of office by top Congressional Democrats and will resign. At this moment, the latter seems more likely.

In any event, I would be buying equities in here with both hands. Equity prices in here are very, very attractive and may not stay this way for very long. The equity market may stay depressed for a number of weeks and / or months but my / our average cost of purchase will look very good once all these political matters are dealt with. Tense your stomach and keep buying. This is how real wealth is created.

On another topic, it looks like the semi equipment companies may be turning in here-Amat, Klac, Nvls, Ter-on good news from Intc and a brighter outlook from National Semiconductor. Just goes to prove that although most of us do not know when things turn around if we buy high quality companies at attractive prices we come out ahead in the end.
