To all the people that responsded to my comment.

I ** Like ** competition.

Just not incompetent competition.

How can you tell if it's incompetent ? Let's see...

Have HUGE losses, keep on hoping for next quarter, next quarter,
next quarter, and of course, dumpump chips at below costs, so that even a giant like INTEL has diminished margins and so forth.

AMD Incompetent management, botched product launches i.e. yields
ridiculous CEO, losses, losses , losses.

NSM/Cyrix See above

IDT/Centaur Actually, not as bad as the other two, Their yields
are so good, they cannot sell ALL they build. Again
losses though.

Rise Who knows ??

Intel has the manufacturing prowess, marketing, strategic moves (a.k.a sub-$ 1000 Celeron-a, Chips & Tech, networking cards), financial muscle, employees, and billion sof people that do not have computers yet.

The world is much bigger than the saturated US-market you know.

remember a company called Coke ? People had announced in the early '80's that they had "saturated" the market, and had no more room to grow. People forgot the international sales aspect.

Take care
Jean
