I think you are underestimating the fingerscanning products out there. The better ones cannot be spoofed with a dead or plastic finger, since they are sensitive to heat and moisture. As to someone picking off a fingerprint from a network, that shouldn't work either, since security algorithms reject perfectly identical subsequent submissions. Finally, the fingerprint biometrics are far better than 80-90%. Parameters can be set by the administrator for various applications, depending on security needs, to balance the incidences of authorized user rejections versus allowing unauthorized users in.
