I keep hearing this, but I don't think this will happen totally. Low end maybe as bandwidth increases (Have you played with a an iMAC yet? Nice video, nice computer all around, beats all these sub 1k and any wintel machine in that price range if we had the bandwidth, the iMAC would be a great home computer. Apple could make them like TVs, now that is commoditization) The latest and greatest will always be a draw. I have pent 90 at home that is fast becoming junk, when I bought it was high end. I was getting commments Like: "What do you need all that memory for 1 gig, 32 megs is too much" Of course I had to add a harddrive and more ram and another modem.
