It's nice to read a rational post. Your example of the garbage man is apt, he probably wouldn't go to jail. I would submit that there are 2 other issues here 1) The president is supposed to set an example
2) the testimony about not being alone with Monica extended the lie beyond denying sex and on to something else.
You may be right about what we should do. I'm torn by conflicting thoughts. I really don't want the country to go through impeachment, but I think he needs to be punished. As a president he has been fairly good (thanks to defeat of his worst ideas like socialized medicine, and to Mr. Greenspan, and a Republican congress) but as a person he is a real failure. I wonder how history will judge him.
