Give that man a cigar! (sorry, could not resist). The lurid parts are interesting, but the real question is whether his lying rises to the level of an impeachable offense. Although I don't condone his behavior, it is understandable that he would try to cover up an extramarital affair, and does his attempts to conceal it, even under oath, amount to something we should take a VERY drastic step over and impeach him. In 200 years, we have only tried to impeach a President once (twice?), but have never removed a president that way. This is a DRASTIC measure that should not be taken lightly. It seems to me that covering up an extramarital affair may not rise to that level, but that is for Congress to decide. His reputation has been sullied by the report, to be sure. I haven't even come close to finishing the report, so I don't know all the lying he is accused of, and I'll leave it there. Have a good weekend. |
