Barry,
Life at the racetrack is indeed a lot of fun. I have nothing but pleasant memories of my experiences there. It's wonderful how the selective memory tends to diminish your thoughts regarding the losing days, but you can vividly and fondly recall nearly all of your big winners. Had I not gone to college, entered the military service and gotten married, I presume that I might have made a very good living at the race track. However, the paychecks were not always steady, like an 8 to 5 job, so I conformed and capitulated to society's expectations on how to achieve the great American dream. In looking back, I have no regrets. Yes, I miss the race track, but where would I be today had I spent my entire life with my nose in the past performances and my money going from pocket to handle to pocket to handle. BTW, heading out for Lake Tahoe a week from Friday.
