an upgrade on July 14, 1998:
Solectron Corporation (SLR), based in Milpitas, California, is a well- managed, turnkey manufacturer of a broad range of electronic components and systems mostly for original equipment manufacturers in the data communications, workstation, personal computers and peripherals, telecommunications and other industries. Solectron manufacturers complex printed circuit board assemblies, higher level subassemblies and, to a growing extent, provides order fulfillment and aftermarket support for full system assemblies.

Over the past year, systems assembly work has more than doubled to 19% of sales. Dunne believes that a unique relationship to build PCs with Ingram Micro should help further increase this percentage.

Solectron has developed one of the more diversified customer bases in the industry with the largest customer accounting for 14% of sales (Top 10=68%). In addition to winning the Malcolm Baldridge award twice, Solectron has also accumulated over 100 customer awards.

"We believe outsourcing trends are intensifying and that the largest, best-capitalized firms with the broadest skill base, such as Solectron, should continue to take share," said Dunne.

The EPS estimates for 1998 and 1999 are $1.65 and $2.20
