Ian, there is a strong minority in this country who immensely dislike the President and who would like to see him resign or impeached. The process here will most likely drag out for quite a while. Even a child can understand that if the President has to spend a substantial amount of time apologizing to the American People and defending himself against Mr.Starr, that he will have less time to jawbone the tobacco industry, which puts pressure on the Stock Price. If you think that MO will not benefit from this sex scandel, then I don't think you understand the relationship between the politics of the Clinton Government and the Democratic Party and its relationship to the share price of tobacco stocks like MO!
A good settlement allows MO to trade on its fundamentals. MO hasn't been trading on its fundamentals for over a year partly because of the Politics of Greed of the Clinton Administration. Where have you been? I think you need to read and think clearly before you post. My post clearly stated that I was looking at this sex scandel from the standpoint of MO. When I post on various Clinton Threads, I expand my analysis outside of the impact of this sex scandel on the tobacco industry, which is favorable.
