Response to Gemplus, Gemplus.. You're being precipitous. Smart card technology will not likely supplant but, rather, supplement the avant-garde innovation Wave Systems technologies represents. There is nothing about the VRSN and Gemplus smart card reader that is particularly new to the smart card industry and nothing about it that will leap frog over the EASY addition of micro-processors with hardware encryption, EDS and e-commerce capabilities already built into computer devices as a matter of value added convenience (and revenue generation for those who add the chips to their devices). It's obviously too early to declare anyone has "failed" to execute. Especially WAVX. Smart cards as "meter-readers" have quite a ways to go toward acceptance as they've not even been developed.. yet. And who do you guess is quite likely to see their development through? You've got it! WAVX! Sorry if all this sounds like a plug for Wave Systems. It is! However, it's a warning to all those who think the "Big Boys" have it made it the smarty card industry as well. RCOM is in the running as long as it keeps focused and innovative.. Now, off to my Jacuzzi and pool, Marty
