AMD is learning to be more conservative with pre-announcements.

Petz:
I think AMD has to be conservative right now to build some credibility. They will almost certainly need to issue stock by the middle of 1999 unless Sharptooth is just a raging success. By being conservative now, they can hype the K7 and obtain capital at the lowest possible cost.

As an AMD shareholder, I'm all for this. The K7 just might be the ticket to 30% market share, but I'm not holding my breath.

Would appreciate everyone telling me I'm wrong, but I don't think so.
