All,

What a world we live in these days. It sometimes seems that outstanding efforts to innovate, to make folks live better, go un-rewarded or even persecuted.

At the same time, political ambitions lead to instant, worldwide disclosure of personal weaknesses, common human stuff that wouldn't raise an eyebrow among weekend golf partners.

Sometimes it is easy to feel uncomfortable, to believe that the "public" prefers what is sensational to what is material, and to attack the innovator and idealize the imitator.

To me, at least, there is something very disturbing about the way internet technology was used today. There is a new ability for the darker side of human nature to influence "public" opinion, and societies actions.

John
