No sales, but still have world wide operations to support, payrolls, buildings, expenses, R&D, etc. Of course if they have more money in the bank than the company is worth then they are a definite takeover, just for the cash valuation. Ever hear of corporate raiders, that is a sure sign of a recession. Raiders come in and offer shareholders more than current stock price to get control, then they take the cash and sell off the assets for the cash value and Poooooffff no more LRCX. Could happen, not saying that it will. Of course, I have stated that NVLS + LRCX makes a lot of good business sense, they compliment each others technologies and would make a good marriage.
