Even though I disagree on some of your comments, I agree you should not initiate a short based on valuation.

If so, you would have been short YHOO, AMZN, et al, all year, and unless you covered your margin calls, would have been forced out.

Whether BRCM may be a good short or not remains to be seen, but to short it on valuation, even in a bear market is ludicrous.
