stockdoctor, not to quibble, but long term thinking cost me the gains I once had on several stocks. Couldn't agree more, Gottfried. Anyone who thinks that semi equip or oil service stocks are just long term holds should take a look at the charts on those stocks and see if they really want to ride ESV from 47 to 10 and watch handsome profits turn into ugly losses. I think there are only a small number of stocks that fit the long-term hold category and very few are tech stocks or oil-service stocks. Everything else is just playing the up cycle and keeping tight stop losses. Good luck, John
