Y2K -- A non-event

Of course, I have had one other thought regarding Y2K. What if it causes nothing? January, 2000 comes, and nothing happens. Life goes on as is. Let's say nothing "terrible" happens at all in the world -- no terrorist attacks, Russia recovers, the market goes to new highs, life is "good". How many people will then be thinking about the "end of the world"? I'd say most prophecy-related books, programs, teachers, and people in general will have 100% of the air let out of their balloons. The attitude would be, "I guess everyone was wrong -- no one can interpret Scripture -- there probably isn't even a 7-year period -- life will probably go on for another 10,000 years". Many will even abandon their faith altogether. There would be NO interest in Biblical prophecy at all. NO ONE would be looking or expecting the imminent return of Christ.

Just a thought.

I remain,

SOROS
