Haim, I am not saying that what we are now finding of his behavior is "right" it is just not the kind of "high" crimes the Framing Fathers contemplated as ground for impeachment. You realize, that from a legal point of view, oral sex is equivalent to masturbation? (It comes under the biblical dictum of not "discharging" your seed in vain, if my translation from Hebrew is close enough). Are we going to check every person seeking office for this kind of transgression?

I was discussing this issue with my wife last night and she said that in the next primary, she is going to pose to each contestant the following two question:

Have you ever had an intercourse with a person you were not wed to?
Have you in the past or in the recent past shed your semen in vain?

The poiunt is that after all this time and expenditure, we have a perjury in which many religious authorities would say, by the religious law, it was not a sexual relationship. I do not know what our secular law defines as a sexual relationship, but I have not seen many cases in which oral sex (even forced) was ground for a rape verdict. As despicable as these actions were, these are not grounds for impeachment.
